The exports in Cantabria in 2007 reached the figure of 1,679.89 million euros in the industrial sector, while the imports amounted to 2,126.72 million euros.

Capital goods and semimanufactures (mostly iron and steel) were the most significant of Cantabria's exported products. These were followed by the vehicle components sector. As far as imports are concerned, the most significant sectors were the car industry, followed by semimanufactures.

Cantabria has had very good results exporting to SODERCAN's preferential countries, in particular China.

An analysis of the destinations of the exported goods reveals that the European Union receives the vast majority of exports with 71%.

In the case of imports, the European Union is once again the majority source with 62.5%, followed, in this instance, by Asia, with 23.7%.
