The Autonomous Community of Cantabria has a complete overland, air and sea transportation network which provides links with the rest of Spain and the main cities of Europe.

Overland links

The high-capacity road infrastructures are structured along two axes, one from east to west along the coast which provides direct and uninterrupted motorway access to the rest of Europe and another, from north to south, towards the rest of Spain's cities.

As far as railway is concerned, the region has a route which links it to the rest of Spain and another, going from east to west, which provides quick connections to high-speed European rail network. This complete infrastructure will soon by complemented by a high-speed railway network that will improve links to Spain's major cities.

Cantabria therefore has quick maximum-capacity links with Spain's main cities, such as Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao, and has fast access to the entire European Union.

Port of Santander

The Port of Santander, with considerable potential for growth given its location, offers personalised services to its customers with a comprehensive offering adaptable to the particular needs of the goods being transported.

Its strategic alliances provide an extensive radius for trade activity, with a high capacity for storage and management of goods.

The port has over 5,000 square metres of moorings and over 500,000 of warehouses, which are complemented by the services provided by the region's smaller ports.

As a multipurpose port, Santander offers efficient solutions to the new demands in international transportation and commerce, providing the most modern solutions for port operations and links outside of the region via motorway or rail.

Airport of Santander

Santander has a modern airport with numerous flights to the principal domestic and international destinations (Frankfurt, London, Rome, Dublin, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Tenerife...), just 15 minutes from the city centre. Cantabria also has access to a second international airport less than one hour away by car.
