Chemical

Cantabria has a long tradition in the chemical industry with several production plants belonging to important multinationals.

The majority of companies are located in the Torrelavega area and on the Bay of Santander, the two main centres for chemical production. Both areas have excellent overland communications and links with the Port of Santander.

The Cantabrian sector, principally related to base chemicals, represents 15% of industrial activity in Cantabria.
