Food and Agriculture

Cantabria's food and agriculture sector has a similar structure to that of the rest of Spain, standing out in two segments:

• Fish canning: with Spain's biggest semi-preserve sector.
• Dairy products: with one of the most important bovine production stocks in Spain and large processing plants in the region.

In addition, there is an important presence of other branches of food and agriculture production, such as that of other products deriving from fishing, cocoa or coffee and industrial baking.

The industrial food and drink sector represents 15.4% of the total volume of industry in Cantabria.
